Salpingectomy
This is the treatment of choice if the other tube appears normal because of the risk of a recurrent ectopic.
Indications:
- Tubual rupture
- Very large ectopic
- Previous sterilisation
Salpingostomy
Risk of recurrent ectopic pregnancy is high and the patient will require serial hCG monitoring following the procedure because of the risk of residual trophoblast.
Indications:
- Previous salpingectomy
- Other tube abnormal
- Pt choice for tubal conservation
